Thursday 23rd March

Well what a game, after this who dare say we have not got the best netball club and players.
U19 Blue team took on Lincoln U19 B  Well with many players injured we put out a very young team - in fact we had :

1 x u19
1 x u17
2 x u16
3 x u15
1 x u14

All of which had never played together before never mind trained together - but they took the court and gave it 100%  At the end of the 1st quarter Brigg were 6 v 5 up - and they drew the 2nd quarter 10 all  to make it 16 v 15 at half time  The 3rd quarter got underway and we managed to gain a slight lead finishing it 25 v 22 up the last quarter was by far the best - with all players determined not to let the lead go some excellent marking and interceptions in defence and some great court linkage from defence to attack saw us win the last quarter 13 v 2  giving us the finial score and a well deserved win of 38 v 24
Well done girls! does not do the team justice, fantastic is more fitting.

Wed  9March

What a game! Brigg's U19 Black team when to Barge This is always a very tight fixture as both teams battle for the top league places in this age group. The first quarter finished with Brigg down 8 v 5 The second was not our best and we went to half time down 20 v 10
The girls dug in hard and went back on court determined to show what they were made off - and the game turned around - we finished the 3rd quarter only down by 3 (25 v 22) - the fight was on - and as the girls took to the court for the last quarter spirits were high - and the determination was 100% The game ended 35 v 38 to BRIGG! - what a result

Well done girls - we are very proud of you!

Saturday 6th March  Brigg vs Boston

We took a early lead in the first quarter, a low score in the second quarter of us both scoring 3 goals, we got our game together in the third quarter but 12 goals to 2 and we kept it going in the last quarter wining the game 27-8.

Brigg vs Gainsborough

In our second game everyone played really well again resulting in a deserved win off 35-6.

Well done everyone.

U14 Black Brigg Black V Lincoln B
Well done to everyone, we took the lead in the first quarter and held it all the way through. Everyone worked together as a team and it paid off. Keep up the hard work, and we will win again :)
The end score was 31-4

Sunday 30 January 2011

Brigg Blacks U16s played the second of their Regional matches, already having had a good win against Kettering in the first round 2 weeks earlier.  This match was at home against Charnwood.  All players were focused and committed from the off, the first quarter being very close at 12 11 to Brigg.  We managed to pull a larger lead in the second quarter taking the score to 26 18.  Charnwood managed to score the most goals during the third quarter but we held tight and fought to a 48 41 win.  Well done everyone looking forward to the next match!

Match report Sunday 23rd January 2011

Today we played our league match against Horncastle and won 52 - 19. All players gave 100% effort with some players out of position. good teamwork from all players. Well done to Becky who took up the position of shooting, a first for her in a league game and she rose to the challenge.

Match report from Steph Blanchard U14 Black Captain

Brigg Black V Horncastle B
Fantastic performance by everyone on Saturday, everyone played really well. We held the lead all the way though the match, with everybody working as a team. Good short passing across the court in the windy conditions helped us to keep the lead. With the final score being
40-4. A great start to the New Year. Keep up the hard work and hopefully we will win the next matches :)

Under 16s play offs 5 December 2010

Well done to everyone who played in the play offs! Unfortunately we had Emily and Megan missing due to illness, we all wish them well and hope they get better soon.

The first match against Lincoln was the toughest with us been down by 4 at half time, but we pulled it back with excellent play from everyone especially some good interceptions from the defence, resulting in a win of 11-15.  The second game against Barge/Sleaford wasn't quite as close with us winning it  9-15, everyone putting in good effort again keeping the goals from the other team to a minimum.  Lastly we played Horncastle and had another convincing win with everyone giving the maximum amount of effort right until the end. Special thanks must go to Laura for continuing to play all 3 games despite being sick several times during the first match - well played Laura. Overall a really good day with brilliant play by everybody! Well done!

Match Report Sat 20 Nov  - Brigg U14 Black

Well done to everyone who played on Saturday. We put up a good fight against a good Lincoln team only losing by five goals.

There were many good passes down the court and a few good interceptions. It was a fairly even score in the first two quarters but unfortunately Lincoln started to pull away in the 3rd quarter. In the 4th quarter we got back on track and fought really hard winning that quarter by 2 goals but not by enough to win the game.

Better luck next time. Well played everyone

The U14 Blue had a good game against Gainsborough, some terrific game play and good team spirit. Well Done Girls !

The U14 Black - A  fantastic start, lost the flow a little in the middle but went out fighting in the last quarter and sealed the win 20 goals to 18.  Brilliant team spirit keep going girls!

Brigg Black U14  v Horncastle C
Well done to everyone, but we had to fight to win this with some decisions going against us but in the end the score was 20-18 it was a very close match, if we are honest perhaps too close for comfort. It was great to have Laura back in the team after nasty foot injury.
Well played, next match another win :)
Thanks
  Steph

Sat 9th October

Brigg Black U14  v Horncastle A

Well done everybody today for working so hard we all worked together as a team in what was always going to be a hard match.
Although the result wasn't what we wanted the first 2 quarters in the game left us thinking that we could win but then in the 3rd quarter with a score of 26-9 it became very difficult to see the possibility of a win with such tough competition. I think we all played very very well, so chins up. The final score 37-10 Hornacastle. We are very capable of wining our next matches with the team effort that you all showed today.

Sunday 23rd May 2010

The Hi 5 girls went to Horncastle on Sunday 23rd to play in their tournament.  The weather was absolutely scorching making for difficult playing conditions, but the 8 girls kept giving it 100% when on court. They won 5 out of 6 games in their group and played Newark in the semi-final, but unfortunately lost.  They then went on to play Horncastle for 3rd/4th placing, what a match, with it having to go to Golden Goal, both teams having plenty of attempts but we finally got that last goal and came away with 3rd place.
The girls have tremendous team spirit and determination - Well Done all Of You !

Sunday 16th May

u16s and u19s went to Horncastle U19s started the day well with a great win but then illness took over - and during the day i think we ended up with 3 fit out the 8 squad - so a fantastic effort by them all as they finished 3rd we hope they all get fit and back on their feet soon.  u16s haven't had many matches this season and it showed at the beginning of the day - but as they played more they started to gel together and had 2 great wins in the afternoon - to draw on points for 4th and 5th place - finishing 5th due to goal difference.

Sunday 9th May

Hi 5 went to Skegness to play in the last grand prix of the season and finished 3rd  u12s and u13s played at Horncastle - both teams had some great games and the u12s (a new combination) started to get it together - and found their feet and started to work as a team as the day went on. u13s had it hard in the u14 section but again played some good games - took some time to settle down both teams finished 5th on the day - well done thanks to Yvonne / Racheal and Sophie for going to Skegness and Debbie and Nat for going to Horncastle - thanks also go to Sue Huck for helping with the umpiring at Horncastle.

Match Report from Steph Blanchard

Week -end 27th & 28th March

It started on the Saturday when 4 of our girls went for trials to get into the academy team, and all four were selected.

Then Sunday the wonderful under 14s and the under 19s went to show their skills in the regional championships. the under 19s finished 6th, not bad when you remember this is a regional tournament. But what can we say about the under 14s team who played a blinder AND CAME AWAY AS OUTRIGHT WINNERS. When I get the photos they will be on a special page along with reports from various people. This team will now go forward to the National finals on 8th/9th May in Manchester. I am sure we will all be supporting them. There is a message from Carol Spencer, East Midlands Competition Technical Support Group on our Message Board

Well what a day

Sunday 21st March -

This was the Lincolnshire satellite academy trials day, 15 members of club turned out having being selected to go - via club / school they went through 3 skills sessions and then played games - the standard was high and it was very apparent that unless they played their hearts out and gave it 110%  then the 20 places on offer would not be coming their way. What a fantastic result - 12 out the 15 got selected and offered places on the 10 week programme to start in April - this is the start of the England Netball Talent pathway - so well done girls and good luck with the training

What a weekend for for results

Saturday 13th March

The u118's took on the RAF squad in a friendly at the end of the first 1/4 we were 11 v 6 up - and that's how it continued during the game the girls gave 100% at all times. the defence were tight and the centre court linked attack and defence with some great moves  and the shooters did their job and popped them in the end result was 30 v 18 to Brigg -An excellent game by all

Sunday 14th - Mothers day

Tracy

Without a defeat to their name all season - the u14 blacks took on Horncastle A  a game that would decide the league title for the season the girls were determined to win - and win they did! They played the best they had played all year, with some personnel best performances by individuals,  and from the very first whistle they were determined they were going home league champions and what better way to celebrate mothers day - for all the mums that have supported them all season. quarter 1 we were  12 v 4 up   quarter 2  21 v 5 up   quarter 3  27 v 8 up. End result 34 v 12 winners  It would be hard to praise any one individual as it truly was a team effort and a team win. We now look forward to representing Lincolnshire at the regional tournament on the 28th March.

Vanessa

Report from Tracy

Sunday 24th January

Senior A took on Skegness A and despite 100% commitment from everyone - they finished without gaining a point for the table The Skegness shooters were very accurate and nothing our defence did stopped them. the u19s then took on Skegness and this was a different story - Brigg fielded a strong 8 and all centre court (Bry/ Emily / Kelly and Catlin) were able to have a quarter rest which helped them to the finial score line of 47 v 22 - With Alison unable to play Nic took on the role of GS and after a slow start her confidence grow and the goals went in, and her partnership with Hannah became a strong one. Kim and Becki were dominant in defence and made some great interceptions.

The senior A team then took on Skegness B after only an hour and half rest  - and got of to a great start with goals being steady from both sides. But then as the 2nd quarter started the goals just rung around the net and didn't go in - the story was the same after making changers. Efforts were high and they were rewarded with a point for the table for gaining over half the score of Skegness B the team was: Natalie, Katie, Laura, Jenny, Bev, Paula, Kirsty, Emma

Sunday 17th Jan
