23 v 7 - won against Sleaford Barge

23 v 12 - won against Lincoln City

29 v  5 - won against Horncastle

This gained us 1st place in the Lincolnshire play offs and we now look forward to the regional games during Jan / Feb. and March - and hopefully the regional play offs to gain a place at the Nationals

Nice start to the new year well done

Spain 9th September - 12th September 2011

As you all know we had a team of girls go to Spain to take part in an new tournament. Despite the trauma of having to evacuate the hotel on the Saturday, due to a fire that destroyed a number of rooms they was able to put this behind them and go on to become the overall winners, be it on goal difference. What an achievement well done to all.

Lincolnshire s league has finished and what a result for BRIGG!!

U12's - league winners

U14's - 4th and 6th

u16's - league winners

u19's - 2nd and 4th

Senior div 1 - league winners

Best attack of the league - U16s

with all this we were crowned CLUB OF THE SEASON - for the 3rd consecutive year!

Report from the weekend 7th/8th may

Well what a weekend - some of the best netball ever was on display - and the Brigg girls did themselves / their club / county and region proud
Many a team and officials commented on their conduct on and off court and the total sportsmanship of them as a squad and their "will not give up" approach to all games The squad of 12 all gave 100% and some personnel best performances were given by some individual players
This is a fantastic achievement for the girls to have reached the national finials and when you look at the catchments area's of the teams we played like - Poole / Kent / Tameside etc for a small rural town to achieve this (for a 2nd consecutive year) is no mean feat - 8 of the 12 players were only u15 - some of whom are still 14 years of age. We came home with a ranking of 17th u16 squad in the country - well done girls we are all very proud of you!!

Brigg Under 12’s team in Regional finals The Priory Witham Academy – 08.05.11

Team members: Rachael, Katie, Ellie, Amelia, Tammy Y, Sophie, Destiny, Anya and Tammy B. The team played with commitment and pride throughout the day, they supported each other and accommodated team changes with good humour and without argument. The opening game was against tough opposition – Future Print, a team from Northants.  The score line of 2 – 8 did not reflect the performance of the Brigg girls.  After a close start the team were unsettled by an injury, and were unable to regain their composure. In the second game the team rallied and won the game 5 – 3 against another Lincolnshire team – Horncastle.  The third game saw the team succeed in their best performance of the day – beating Cliftonettes Black 7 – 1, one of the two Nottinghamshire teams. We struggled against Cliftonettes Royal, losing to them 2 – 10, but the girls kept trying throughout the game. The final game was against Boston, another Lincolnshire team.   The game was close, and the girls played their best, but the end result was 4 – 7 to Boston. Everyone in the team performed to the best of their ability and was supportive of each other.  Special mentions to Rachael, Tammy Y, Anya and Amelia who were all asked to play out of position.

Well what a weekend!

Firstly we found out on Friday that our Senior team have made the regional play offs - with 2 games left to play - they can not come lower than 2nd in the league so qualify - well done girls / ladies this is great news for you and the club!

Then on Sunday 17/4/11 the u16s regional squad went to Loughborough for the play offs to try to make it 2 years in a row to get through to the nationals - we didn't have the best of starts and the games were the toughest we have faced all season (but that's what you would expect at this level)
The good news is we finished 2nd and go to the Nationals as one of the top 18 teams (2 from each of the 9 region's) in the country on 7/8th May at the E.I.S in Sheffield - well done girls !

Thursday 23rd March

Well what a game, after this who dare say we have not got the best netball club and players.
U19 Blue team took on Lincoln U19 B  Well with many players injured we put out a very young team - in fact we had :

1 x u19
1 x u17
2 x u16
3 x u15
1 x u14

All of which had never played together before never mind trained together - but they took the court and gave it 100%  At the end of the 1st quarter Brigg were 6 v 5 up - and they drew the 2nd quarter 10 all  to make it 16 v 15 at half time  The 3rd quarter got underway and we managed to gain a slight lead finishing it 25 v 22 up the last quarter was by far the best - with all players determined not to let the lead go some excellent marking and interceptions in defence and some great court linkage from defence to attack saw us win the last quarter 13 v 2  giving us the finial score and a well deserved win of 38 v 24
Well done girls! does not do the team justice, fantastic is more fitting.

Wed  9March

What a game! Brigg's U19 Black team when to Barge This is always a very tight fixture as both teams battle for the top league places in this age group. The first quarter finished with Brigg down 8 v 5 The second was not our best and we went to half time down 20 v 10
The girls dug in hard and went back on court determined to show what they were made off - and the game turned around - we finished the 3rd quarter only down by 3 (25 v 22) - the fight was on - and as the girls took to the court for the last quarter spirits were high - and the determination was 100% The game ended 35 v 38 to BRIGG! - what a result

Well done girls - we are very proud of you!

Saturday 6th March  Brigg v’s Boston

We took a early lead in the first quarter, a low score in the second quarter of us both scoring 3 goals, we got our game together in the third quarter but 12 goals to 2 and we kept it going in the last quarter wining the game 27-8.

Brigg v’s Gainsborough

In our second game everyone played really well again resulting in a deserved win off 35-6.

Well done everyone.

Nice to see we still have one team at the top of the league Go to Photographs to see the celebrations
